My first full marathon in November 2026 is far more than a finish line. It’s an emotional milestone that marks how far I’ve come and who I’m becoming.
In January 2025, I began a transformation rooted in more than weight loss. It was a rebuilding of self-belief. My first 5K in September 2025 sparked a running journey that has since included multiple 10Ks, a 25K, and a half marathon.
With every kilometre, running taught me discipline, patience, resilience, and the courage to continue when stopping felt easier.
The most powerful influence has been a childhood cancer survivor whose strength and hope reshaped my understanding of life. She showed me that survival isn’t just enduring. It’s finding reasons to hope, to live, and to keep moving forward. Her story reminded me that hope shouldn’t be something a child must find alone. Sometimes, simply standing beside someone and saying, “I’m here,” makes the hardest journey feel less lonely.
Between my first 5K and the half marathon, I realized this journey was never only about getting stronger. It was about recognizing the strength that’s always been within me and choosing daily to channel it into meaning for others.
That’s why I’m running my first full marathon: to stand beside children fighting childhood cancer and to turn every kilometre into an act of solidarity for battles far bigger than any race. With your support, every step I take can help bring them comfort, care, and a little more light on their hardest days.
